Here are 25 beautiful, inspiring bible verses for women who feel unwanted and unloved.
Hey sis! Have you ever felt like nobody loved you?
Has there ever been a time where you questioned if people wanted you around?
I’ve dealt with feelings of being undesired and unloved at various times in my life. Whenever I feel unloved, unimportant or insecure, the word of God reminds me to whom I belong.
This is also what I want to use the bible verses below to remind you that you are not unwanted or unloved. God loves you just as you are today.
What Does God Say About Feeling Unloved and Unwanted?
Since I was about a teenager I can faintly remember struggling with feelings of rejection. Some of these came from experiences with my schoolmates, interactions with teenagers and even the people I hung out with at church.
I specifically remember being teased because I preferred to speak in Standard English instead of the local dialect “Patois”. I had no real problems with speaking Patois, but I was much more comfortable using Standard English.
For this I was often told that I was acting “too white” or I was being an “Oreo” or any assortment of names they could find. I was also teased because of the kind of music I enjoyed and the fact that I really like the programs on PBS Kids at the time.
I Felt Unwanted And Unloved
It seemed like everywhere I went, nobody really wanted me around.
I was a nuisance. I was too quiet. I was too weird.
All of these experiences really demolished what little self-esteem I had. This would later lead me to make choices and looking for love/ validation from all the wrong people.
I would seek validation from boyfriends, from medals I would win and I even tried to seek validation in being a wife. That didn’t end too well at all.
Like me, many of you often try to overcome feeling unloved the same way I did—by trying to earn it from other people. This didn’t work for me, and most likely it won’t work for you either.
The best way I’ve found to overcome these feelings is to realize not only who I am but what I am in Christ. No-one can ever love you more than God and in the following verses, God reminds us of His love for us.
Bible Verses For Women Who Feel Unwanted And Unloved
Ephesians 2:19 –
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household.
1 John 4:9-1–
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewellery or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
ROMANS 5:6-8–
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
2 Timothy 1:7–
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

PSALM 37:23-24–

If You Feel Unloved, Remember This
When you feel abandoned, forgotten, unwanted or unloved, it’s time to remember exactly who you are. The bible tells us time and time again that as children of God, we are loved by Him. We are more than enough.
We don’t need the acceptance of or the validation that the world might offer because they use earthly measures to determine our worth. God knew us before we were even conceived and He chose us before we were even born.
In Christ, you will never be somebody’s backup plan or second best. You will never be overlooked, unable to measure up or unwanted. People may not see your worth. People may not want you around.
But God always will.
All my love,

I was doing reading a weekly message that comes through my email from Gather ministries with Jennifer and Jeremy Camp and the message led me to think upon the feelings and emotions I’ve had in the past days, weeks and months.. I have really been in an emotional rollercoaster and so I was in search for scriptures related to what I felt so that I could meditate on them in my journal. So when I typed in “scripture For when feeling undesired “.. your blog popped up and I love blogs dedicated for women and that’s how I can me across it.
I particularly loved the part about not needing to feel validated by the world. My issue isn’t that I seek validation from the world.. I’m actually very disconnected with a lot of worldly things.. apart from work and movies.. that’s about the only worldly interactions I have. But, I seek validation from my close Christian friends and my family and significant other.. I find that, no one really speaks my Love language except God himself. So when I do start to feel down and unimportant.. or unseen, I start to cry or sing or just lay in bed with my heart reaching to God to hold me.
Anyway, thank you for writing this post.. it was really helpful. And keep writing.. your content is great and relevant!

Hi Elouise, thank you so much for your comment. Trust when I say that I understand that need to want to be validated by others because it makes us feel better about ourselves. The wonderful thing is that God loves us and finds us worthy even when we don’t see our worth and others don’t. Thank you for the encouragement. I will keep writing.
